Organic Futons

Highest-quality organic natural fibers

Our Time-tested Process:

For many years now, we have made organic futons to our very high standards, using organic natural fibers. Our cotton processor is very careful during all the steps of the cotton fiber processing to ensure the highest quality, certified organic cotton batting. Our cotton batting is made using Texas certified organic cotton.

We use organically processed Montana natural wool, which is grown on small family farms. This wool is washed in solar-heated hot water, using fragrance free detergent. Over the years, we have found wool from a particular breed of sheep (Suffolk) resists felting, and therefore helps keep the loft in our futons. The natural wool from sheep in Montana have not been dipped in pesticides or chemicals for at least eight years. Thus, the only difference between organic wool and the natural wool that we use, is an organic certification.

Since we insert no foam or latex into our futons, we do place a large amount of wool inside of our futons, (not just a wool wrap). We have determined that the very high price of certified organic wool would add considerably to the cost of our product line of organic home furnishings.

We use only 100% organic cotton fabric casing material which meets our standards as well as:

  • GOTS Certified organic (Global Organic Textile Standard)
  • twill weave (holes or tears do not travel)
  • 7 – 8 ounce weight per square yard; heavy and strong

Organic Futon Pricing:

The price for our organic futon is two times the price of our regular handcrafted futons. Please call us for pricing on any standard size of futon that you don’t see here.
