Comfort
The Resiliency of our natural cotton and wool fibers provides comfort and support while sitting or sleeping.
Long Lasting
Small Wonders futons will last as long, or longer, than an expensive high-quality mattress.
Beneficial to Your Health
The natural fiber futons from Small Wonders provide the kind of body support recommended by many healthcare professionals. Most manufactured futons are constructed using foam, which off-gasses formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is not healthy! Our futons are handmade using cotton and wool only.
The cotton batting in our futons is minimally processed. No dyes, bleaches, or fungicides are added.
The wool we use is processed locally from a freshly sheared fleece to a luxurious wool batt. First, the wool goes through a 7-step cleaning process, using only hot water and mild detergent. Then, it goes through a 3-step rinsing process. Afterwards, the wool is dried and formed into 2-inch thick batts using a “carding” machine. Now it is ready for us to use in futon making.
Futons Are Our Specialty
We have been creating handmade futons since 1981!
Most futons on the market are inexpensively mass-produced. These manufactured futons are made with the cheapest possible materials for filling. At Small Wonders, we focus on making excellent futons and providing great service to our customers.
Craftsmanship
From 1978-1980, our founder, Ramona Meers, studied with a master futon maker in Japan. She learned the traditions and the craft from this master, which we continue to use today. Each of our futons is individually handmade to exacting standards. All of our materials and workmanship are carefully inspected at each step of the process.
Value
We often hear from customers who tell us they are using and enjoying their Small Wonders futon after more than ten years of use. College dorm futons get left behind after a couple of years. When you choose a Small Wonders futon, you buy it once and enjoy it for many years!
That is true value.
